Osteopathy

- the body is treated as a whole

Osteopathy – a safe and effective way to become and stay pain-free

We are all different, there is no such thing as a perfect posture, a perfect body. Our lifestyle, our jobs, hobbies – in fact all kinds of life experiences influence our bodies.  The job of an osteopath is to minimize the negative influences by correcting and balancing all the systems of the body.

An osteopath conducts a very thorough examination of the entire body and then treats it as a whole. For example, If you have blocks and restrictions in your spine, this can have a mechanical influence on the other parts of the body. It can also affect the vascular system or compromise the optimal function of your digestive system. It is common that the symptoms are only a sign of disturbed function somewhere in the body.

Osteopaths use a range of gentle hands-on techniques including specific manipulations, mobilizations, soft tissue stretching and cranio-sacral therapy.

Osteopathy is based on the traditional natural sciences. Osteopaths have great knowledge in anatomy, neurology, physiology, biomechanics, embryology and pathology. Osteopathy is a safe and effective way to treat, reduce and prevent pain.  Function and structure are interconnected – if you have a well functioning body then you are less likely to develop painful conditions.
